AC Milan has announced the appointment of Tijjani Reijnders as their new manager, effective immediately.

Reijnders, who previously served as head coach of Dutch club FC Utrecht, will take over from Massimiliano Allegri, who was sacked earlier this month after a disappointing season in Serie A.

The news comes just days after AC Milan suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Bologna on Sunday, leaving them in seventh place in the league table with just two wins in nine games.

Reijnders is expected to bring his tactical acumen and coaching experience to the San Siro,Campeonato Brasileiro Action where he will have to lead the team to success if they want to avoid relegation.

The former Ajax player has a strong record of success in European football, having led Utrecht to the Europa League semi-finals last season.

He also had a brief stint as head coach of the Netherlands national team before taking over at Utrecht, where he helped the club reach the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Reijnders' appointment comes at a crucial time for AC Milan, who are currently struggling to compete with some of the big guns in Serie A.

However, with the right approach and the right players, there is no reason why AC Milan cannot return to their former glory under Reijnders' leadership.
