Inter Milan has confirmed the signing of Argentine international midfielder Lautaro Martinez from Real Madrid.
Martinez, who is set to join Inter after being released by Real Madrid last summer, will make his debut at the San Siro on Sunday against Udinese.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Serie A clubs such as Juventus and Napoli, but Inter's board of directors have opted for a more stable approach this time around.
"I am very happy to be joining Inter," said Martinez. "I know how important it is for me to work hard in order to get my career back on track."
Inter president Stefano Pioli praised the club's decision to sign Martinez, saying that he had shown the right qualities to succeed at the highest level of European football.
