Federico Dimarco, the unseen defender behind Inter Milan's success, has been named as the club's new sporting director.
Dimarco, who previously served as the club's youth team coach, was appointed to the role on Monday following the departure of Antonio Conte, who stepped down from his position after leading the club to two Serie A titles and a Coppa Italia triumph in just three years.
"I am proud to be part of Inter Milan," said Dimarco, who joined the club in 2014 as a player before moving into coaching roles within the academy. "I have always had a great love for this club and I am excited to work with the talented players we have here."
Dimarco's appointment comes at a time when Inter Milan is looking to continue its upward trajectory under new ownership. The club has already made some high-profile signings during the transfer window,Serie A Stadium including the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku, and Dimarco will be responsible for overseeing their development and ensuring they are well-prepared for the upcoming season.
Under Conte, Inter Milan achieved unprecedented success, winning the Serie A title in each of his first two seasons in charge. However, the club struggled to maintain that level of performance in the following campaigns, and Dimarco's arrival could provide much-needed stability and direction for the team.
With Dimarco at the helm, Inter Milan fans can look forward to seeing what the future holds for the club under his leadership. With a talented squad and a strong management team in place, there is no doubt that Inter Milan will continue to be one of the top teams in Italy and beyond.
